so many things to buy so little moola

for those who heard, mel and i will be heading down to melbourne in 3 weeks. an all expenses paid 8-day trip.. well i exagerrate, its actually just flight/accomodation/transport that are being covered. i doubt anyone is willing to cover my shopping expenses.

anyway, its all a well-deserved break. can't wait to just busk under the melbourne sun (with SPF 130 of course!) and do some much needed retail therapy. the melbourne pro, laine is passing me a much needed list of to-dos, to visit and to-shop. thanksss babe. :)

all may sound fun and dandy so far, however there is just a teeny-weeny problem i'm facing (or rather ALL of us always have to battle with): money no enough ah. i realised, as i venture into the working society, it is difficult to scrimp and save. expensive meals and standard cab trips are part and passel of my job.. esp when mel and i have bosses who lavish in good food and drinks. so it's really not my fault that the "money no enough" bell keeps going off.

...

okay okay, so i admit i do spend quite a bit on bags. and shoes. and clothes. but reallie please.. what do you expect? for me to report to work naked?

*client meeting scenario pops into my head*
my boss: hi, im dylan and this is my colleague, xinwei.
me: hi! im xinwei and these are my breasts, paparoti and rotiboy.

i digress. sooo.. to earn back 30-50% of what i spend on shopping ( think im being ambitious here), im going to click on the SELL tab on yahoo!auctions for start. first item to go would be my black birkis. anybody interested?

goblet of fire not so great?

hello harry potter-heads. ( am so itching to call you all happy-potheads)

yes, i'm excluded, because even tho i love the shows, i don't read the books. ;)

anyways, i don't know if you guys who have read the book enjoyed the movie, but our dear famed singapore-blogger Xiaxue makes it clear she hates it.

then she went on to cast her own people for her version of Goblet of fire... which is quite amusing, i have to say.

so check out her blog, and let me know if really, i've been missing out on so much of goblet of fire? should be the entry named, "i'm sorry but harry potter sucked." if i'm not mistaken.

viv: watch already then read her blog ah... its got a lot of spoilers.

some gems from saturday night

whilst playing taboo: i can't remember verbatim, but it went something like this.

Paul: (describing word: "Bill Clinton") the guy who got *makes blowjob motion with hand and mouth*
rest of table: OH GOODNESS PAUL!!! *hides face in hands*

Paul: (describing word: "Blow") a WHAT job?? *makes blowjob motion with hand and mouth*
rest of table: *groan*

Angel: (describing word: "Siberian") a WHAT husky??
Xinwei: GERMAN!

Mel: (describing word: "Flirt") my nickname on the blog!
Angel and Xinwei: *blurbloc face* err...
Mel: HELLO?! MYYY NICKNAME ON THE BLOG! *looks like going to kill us*
Xinwei: OH! FLIRT! FLIRT!!

and the best, by far...

Peter: (describing word: "Wrestle") THE ROCK! STONE COLD!
Paul: WRESTLING! WWF!!
Peter: yes!! give me the shorter word!!
Paul: ....uh... WR....WR....WREST?
Peter: ?!?!?!

haha. there were others i think but i can't quite remember the rest.

our friends. classic.

2 weddings and 2 funerals.

ok ignore the wedding one, but yeah, just thought i'd let you all in on some tragedy.

my uncle-in-law (dad's side) passed away 4 days after my aunt-in-law (mom's side). both from cancer. he's on the news, 'LIFE' section.

not close to him, coz he's far away in canada, but it's so depressing... everybody's dying around me.

the little (plastic) things

i bought a polly pocket case yesterday. yes, polly pocket. the sweet little compact case that opens up to a miniature world of polly and many wonderful childhood memories. all for the price of 5bucks.

5 bucks.

still overwhelmed by the price, i went to the barbie doll shelves and checked out how much does a doll cost. 16bucks.

since when toys are so cheap!? i remember having to beg my mum for a doll or THE polly pocket jewel case (the one that opens up and slides open AND opens up somemore). was it expensive then? or is it just me and my earning power? or maybe, it's because the polly pocket case i got was manufactured in 1994.

5 bucks man!! (im still in shock!)

still reminiscing my childhood, i googled on polly pocket and they've changed the look of polly! jus like how they've modernised the look of strawberry shortcake. damn. things were so much simpler then.

i want more polly pocket! it comes in the locket and ring case as well. and i want and neeeed the jewel case which opens up and slides open AND opens up somemore.

vivien needs to...

get down to studying, stop doing online personality tests, creating new blogs and checking its comments every so often.

because your darling friends here are waiting (maybe not so patiently) for you to finish studying so that we could get a glimpse of you somehow.

like i said viv, studying at home is super non-effective! you need to be in school, surrounded by the million people scarily mugging in silence (maybe not in the central lib, where the arts students do more yakking than studying sometimes) THEN you'll get stressed and really study at home.

*wags threatening finger* You. first class honours, okay?

now get off this blog and get to work!

note: this blogpost is not in purple because its not-really me. i don't nag friends, but i make an exception (because i care!). viv, u shld be so honoured. *takes bow*

how was visiting mel's place? did you all have fun? yes, my fault... i had to study on thursday because i slacked big time on tues and wed. :(

it's 3am, and i'm still up coz i promised myself i'll start studying for my exams tmr. which will not come till i sleep, but the last person i was talking to on msn (hi alvin, again.) has finally lost out to the z-monster, so i'm about to sleep soon too.

but i just wanna say i miss u all, esp u, mel! haven't seen u in ages, haven't talked to you in ages. argh. i'm sorry.

once bitten twice not shy.

hello girls. are we all enjoying the week? i know xw took off on monday the lucky shite, and i won't be surprised if mel did the same. viv is probably using this time to hole herself up in her room ebaying. whoops, i mean, studying. :P

me? i took an off on wednesday initially until one of our advertisers from china was coming down for only one day and DEMANDED an interview (he speaketh no england!). ppft. so i shifted the leave to friday... only to be given a memo that the big boss was going to have "a very important staff meeting" friday morning.

yes, like, thanks.

nonetheless, a three-day-week is just about as good as any.

i digress.
what i wanted to say initially was, that if everyone thought mel was the one who "once bitten twice not shy", she has quite a contender to the title now: me.

stay tuned for more details, or if you're sitting across from our very own satellite at work, just ask her will do. :P
